A performance marketing agency is paid to produce measurable business outcomes, not impressions or reach. At 95 Solutions that means we plan your paid media, fix the tracking underneath it, improve the pages the traffic lands on, and report on revenue, customer acquisition cost and return on ad spend across every channel you fund. It is the work Mustafa has done since 2015, first as a freelancer and, since January 2016, as Head of Marketing for a Florida-based resort wear brand where the budget and the sales targets are his own responsibility.
This page is for founders and marketing managers who already spend on ads, or are ready to, and want one senior team accountable for the whole paid program. If you only need campaigns built and managed on one or two platforms, our PPC management services page covers that in detail. Performance marketing sits one level above channel management: it decides the channel mix, owns measurement, and connects ads, creative, landing pages and retention into one plan. It is part of our wider digital marketing services.
What Our Performance Marketing Agency Does
Our performance marketing services cover strategy, buying, measurement and conversion. The mix of channels changes by business, but the scope below is what you can expect from us as your performance marketing partner.
| Area | What we do |
|---|---|
| Channel strategy and budget allocation | A written plan that names which channels to fund, in what order, with a budget split, a target for each channel and the point at which we would cut it. |
| Paid search and shopping | Google Ads management, Google Shopping and Performance Max, and Microsoft Advertising to capture demand that already exists. |
| Paid social | Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram, plus TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube where your buyers spend time, to create demand you cannot yet capture on search. |
| Tracking and measurement | GA4, Google Tag Manager, Enhanced Conversions, the Meta Conversions API and server-side tagging, set up through our analytics and tracking team so every platform optimizes on real sales. |
| Landing pages and conversion | Page audits, test plans and new landing pages through our conversion rate optimization work, because a better page lowers the cost of every channel at once. |
| Retention | Email and SMS flows through our email marketing automation service so the customers you paid to acquire buy again. |
| Reporting | A Looker Studio dashboard that shows blended results next to platform numbers, plus a written monthly review with decisions, not just charts. |
Performance Marketing Agency vs Paid Media Agency vs Growth Marketing Agency
These labels get used interchangeably, but they describe different scopes, and the difference matters when you compare proposals.
| Type | Typical scope | Usually measured on |
|---|---|---|
| Paid media agency | Buying and managing ad placements across platforms. Often strong on media, lighter on tracking and landing pages. | Platform metrics: CPC, CPM, platform ROAS, cost per lead. |
| Performance marketing agency | Paid media plus the measurement, creative and conversion work that decides whether the media pays back. | Business metrics: revenue, blended CAC, marketing efficiency ratio, contribution margin. |
| Growth marketing agency | Wider experimentation across acquisition, onboarding, pricing, referral and retention, often inside the product itself. | Funnel metrics: activation, retention, lifetime value, payback. |
We work as a performance marketing agency with the discipline of a dedicated media buyer on the buying side. We also run retention and conversion work, which overlaps with growth marketing, but we do not pretend to be a product team. If your main problem is onboarding inside a software product, we will tell you that before you sign anything.
How We Run a Performance Marketing Program
- Audit and baseline (weeks 1 to 2). We get read access to your ad accounts, GA4, and your store or CRM, then reconcile what each platform claims against the orders or leads you actually received. This gives us a true baseline for blended acquisition cost and revenue per ad dollar.
- Fix measurement before spending more (weeks 2 to 4). We clean up conversion actions, remove duplicates, turn on Enhanced Conversions in Google Ads, connect the Meta Conversions API with event_id deduplication, and set Consent Mode v2 where you have EEA traffic. For lead generation we set up offline conversion imports so platforms learn from qualified leads, not form fills.
- Plan the channel mix (weeks 3 to 4). We fund demand capture first (brand search, shopping, high-intent non-brand search) because it pays back fastest, then add demand creation on Meta, TikTok or YouTube once we can measure it. Each channel gets a budget, a target and a stop rule written down in advance.
- Build and launch (weeks 4 to 6). We restructure or rebuild campaigns, write ad copy, brief or produce creative, and fix or build the landing pages the traffic will hit. Launches are staged so one change at a time can be read in the data.
- Test and reallocate every week (from week 6). We run creative tests, adjust bid targets and move budget between channels based on blended results. Where the numbers are big enough we run holdout or geo tests, or platform lift studies where they are available, to check what is truly incremental.
- Review and plan the next quarter (monthly and every 90 days). Each month you get a written review of what worked, what did not and what we are changing. Each quarter we revisit the channel plan against your margins, stock, seasonality and cash position.
The Numbers a Performance Marketing Program Should Be Judged On
Google and Meta will often both claim the same sale. Add email, affiliates and organic, and the sum of platform-reported revenue can be far larger than your real revenue. That is why we manage to blended numbers and treat platform ROAS as a steering signal, not the scoreboard.
- Marketing efficiency ratio (MER): total revenue divided by total ad spend. Simple, hard to game and easy to check against your bank account.
- New customer acquisition cost: ad spend divided by first-time customers. For a store this matters more than overall ROAS, because returning buyers would often have come back anyway.
- Contribution margin after ad spend: revenue minus cost of goods, shipping, fees and ad spend. This is the number that decides whether scaling makes sense.
- Cost per qualified lead and lead-to-sale rate: for service and B2B businesses, a cheap lead that never closes is an expensive lead.
- Payback period: how many months it takes a customer's gross margin to repay what you spent to acquire them.
If you want to sanity check your own targets, our ROAS calculator shows the break-even return you need at your margin.
Performance Marketing Deliverables and What Success Looks Like
These are the outputs a performance marketing retainer with us produces, and when you receive them.
| Deliverable | When | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Audit and baseline report | End of week 2 | Platform conversions reconciled with your orders or CRM, blended CAC and MER for the last 90 days, and a fix list ranked by the money involved. |
| Tracking change log | Weeks 2 to 4 | Every conversion action, tag and event we added, removed or changed, so any future hire or agency can follow the setup. |
| 90-day channel plan | Week 4 | Budget by channel, a target and stop rule for each, and the order of the first tests. You approve it before live changes. |
| Live dashboard | From week 4 | Blended and platform numbers side by side in Looker Studio, refreshed daily, with spend, revenue or pipeline and acquisition cost by channel. |
| Weekly update and monthly review | Ongoing | A short note on what changed each week, then a written monthly review with test readouts, budget moves and a call. |
| Quarterly plan reset | Every 90 days | Channel mix and targets revised against your margins, stock, season and cash position. |
What success looks like
Success is written into the 90-day plan before launch, in your numbers. For a store it is usually new customer acquisition cost at or under a target set from your margin, with MER holding while spend grows. For lead generation it is cost per qualified lead and the share of leads that become opportunities in your CRM. We do not promise a figure, because results depend on your offer, margins, market and season, but you will always know whether the plan is on track and what we are changing if it is not.
Early signs come before revenue moves: platform conversions matching real orders, wasted spend removed and tests reaching a readable result.
Paid Program Problems a Performance Marketing Audit Finds
Brand search inflating results
Brand campaigns and Performance Max often collect sales from people who already searched your name. The account looks efficient while new customer growth is flat. We split brand from non-brand reporting and apply brand exclusions so you can see what the spend is really buying.
Double-counted conversions
A purchase tracked through a GA4 import and a Google Ads tag, or a Meta pixel event without a matching server event ID, gets counted twice. Bidding algorithms then chase the wrong signal. Fixing this often changes which campaigns look profitable.
Retargeting taking credit
Retargeting audiences built on site visitors will always show a high ROAS because many of those people were going to buy. We cap retargeting budgets and judge them on incremental tests, not reported return.
Creative that never changes
On Meta and TikTok, results decline as the same people see the same ads. Without a steady pipeline of new concepts, costs rise every month. We plan creative volume into the monthly scope from the start.
How a Performance Marketing Agency Should Split Your Budget
There is no universal split, only a sensible order:
- Capture existing demand. Brand search, Shopping and high-intent non-brand search come first because buyers are already looking and results are readable within weeks.
- Protect what you already earn. Brand campaigns get a capped budget and Performance Max gets brand exclusions, so you are not paying heavily for customers who would find you anyway. Our Performance Max agency service covers those controls in detail.
- Create new demand. Meta, TikTok, YouTube and display advertising come next, each funded at a level where a creative test can reach a result in two to three weeks.
- Keep a ring-fenced test budget. A fixed share of spend is set aside each month for new channels, audiences or offers, so testing does not stop when the core channels are busy.
Budget moves weekly inside a channel and monthly between channels, so each change can be read in the data.
In-House Performance Marketing Team, Paid Media Agency or Hybrid?
A complete performance marketing function needs four skills: media buying on each platform, tracking and analytics, creative production and landing page work. Few companies can hire all four at once, so most choose one of three models.
| Model | Works well when | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| Full in-house team | Spend is large and steady across several channels, with enough work to keep specialists busy full time. | Hiring takes months, salaries are fixed whatever the results, and the team sees only one account. |
| Agency | You need senior strategy and several skills now, without building a department. | The agency needs quick access to your data and decision makers, and you share its attention with other clients. |
| Hybrid | You have an in-house marketer or creative team and need senior buying, tracking and planning around them. | Roles must be written down: who owns creative, who approves budget moves and who reports to leadership. |
We often work in the hybrid model: your team owns brand, creative direction and email, and we own channel strategy, buying, tracking and reporting. For leadership above the channels, see our fractional CMO service. If you plan to bring buying in-house later, we document everything so the handover is quick.
Performance Marketing for Ecommerce, Lead Generation and SaaS
Ecommerce and DTC brands
Stores rely on Google Shopping, Performance Max and Meta, with email carrying repeat purchases. The work centers on the product feed, margin-based targets and creative volume. Our ecommerce PPC service runs the channel side, and our ecommerce marketing page covers the wider program, including the seasonal and returns issues fashion brands face.
Lead generation and local services
For service businesses the real conversion happens after the form: a call booked, a quote sent, a job won. We send those stages back to Google Ads and Meta as offline conversions so bidding favors the leads that close. Search usually carries most of the budget, with remarketing services kept small and judged on incremental leads.
B2B and SaaS
Sales cycles run for weeks or months, so we measure on pipeline stages from the CRM rather than on trial signups alone. Google search captures in-market demand, LinkedIn ads reach named accounts and job titles, and YouTube builds recall while deals move. Our SaaS marketing page covers trial and demo funnels, and app businesses can see our app install ads service.

Why Choose 95 Solutions as Your Performance Marketing Agency
- Senior-led on every account. Mustafa sets the strategy and reviews the accounts himself. You are not handed to a junior buyer after the sales call.
- 11+ years of spending real budgets. Mustafa has run paid marketing since 2015 and has been an in-house Head of Marketing since 2016, so he knows what a founder needs from an agency because he sits on the client side too.
- We test on our own properties. We run our own sites and co-build AM Jarvis, a SaaS suite for Shopify and WooCommerce stores, so tracking setups and tactics are tried on our own properties before they reach yours.
- You own everything. Ad accounts, pixels, GA4 properties, Tag Manager containers and creative files stay in your name. If you leave, nothing needs to be rebuilt.
- Easy to work with from the US and UK. We are a US LLC with contracts and invoices in USD, and our hours cover the full US business day and overlap UK business hours. Minimum terms are 3 months, not a year.
Who Our Performance Marketing Agency Works With
A good fit
- Ecommerce brands, especially on Shopify, that want paid growth measured on margin and new customers. Our Shopify marketing team covers the store side.
- Service and B2B companies that can connect a CRM so we optimize on qualified leads and closed deals.
- Teams running two or more paid channels with no one person owning the overall plan and the numbers.
- Founders who want a senior operator to challenge the plan, not just execute a brief.
Probably not a fit
- Businesses whose budget is so small that a single test would take months to reach a result. Start with one channel through our PPC service instead.
- Anyone looking for guaranteed ROAS or a fixed number of sales. No honest performance marketing company can promise that.
- Companies that cannot give us access to sales or CRM data. Without it we would be managing to platform numbers, which is exactly what we try to avoid.
Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Performance Marketing Agency
Most proposals look alike on paper. These questions separate an agency that manages to your numbers from one that manages to its own dashboards:
- Which number will you be judged on? A good answer names a business metric such as blended CAC, MER or cost per qualified lead, not platform ROAS alone.
- Who works on the account every week? Ask for the name and experience of the person making the changes, not only the one on the sales call.
- How will you check our tracking? An agency that plans to spend before reconciling platform conversions with your orders or CRM is guessing.
- Whose name are the accounts in? Ad accounts, pixels and analytics should be yours from day one.
- What would make you cut a channel? Look for written stop rules, not a promise to keep optimizing forever.
- How do you handle creative? Paid social needs a steady flow of new concepts, so ask who makes them and how many per month.
Performance Marketing Pricing
Performance marketing is billed as a monthly management retainer. The fee is a flat amount set by your monthly ad spend band, with a percentage of spend applied above the top band, and tracking or landing page builds quoted separately as fixed-price projects. The minimum term is 3 months so there is enough time to fix measurement, launch and read results.
Several things move the cost of a performance marketing program: your monthly ad spend, the number of channels and markets, how many ad accounts or brands we run, the creative volume each month, and the state of your tracking when we start. Ad spend is billed by the platforms to your own card, so there is no media markup hidden in the fee.
Management fee only. Ad spend is paid by the client directly to Google or Microsoft and never passes through us.
