A fintech marketing agency has to grow sign-ups, funded accounts or qualified sales calls while every headline, rate and testimonial passes a compliance review. At 95 Solutions we plan and run SEO, content, paid search, paid social, app marketing and tracking for financial technology companies, and we plan the work around your review process instead of treating it as a delay. We measure the steps that matter for a financial product: completed applications, approved or funded accounts, activation and the cost to get there, not clicks.
Fintech covers very different businesses: consumer neobanks and payment apps, lenders, investing and wealth apps, crypto platforms, and B2B fintech selling payments, lending or treasury software to companies. Each has its own regulators, its own ad platform rules and its own funnel. As a financial services marketing agency on the channel side, we bring paid media, SEO, web and tracking work. Your compliance team and counsel own the regulatory decisions, and we build our process so their reviews are quick and predictable.

People increasingly ask AI assistants money questions before they search, so we also check how your product is described in AI answers. Our AI search optimization service covers that work.
The Fintech Customer Journey: Consumer and B2B
Fintech buyers need to trust you with money before they care about features. That shapes every stage of the journey, and the stages differ between consumer and business products.
Consumer fintech: trust, then convenience
Consumers usually meet a fintech product through a search, a friend, a creator, an app store browse or a comparison and review site. Before they download or apply, they look for proof that the product is safe: who holds the money, whether deposits are insured through a partner bank, what the fees are and what other users say. Clear pages for each of those questions, honest reviews and visible regulatory information matter more than clever ads.
The biggest drop-off usually comes after the click, in sign-up and identity verification. Know Your Customer checks, document uploads and bank linking all lose people. Marketing cannot remove those steps, but it can set expectations before they start, test the order and wording of screens with your product team, and re-engage people who stopped halfway through.
Activation and retention
An opened account is not a customer until it is funded or used. We treat activation (first deposit, first card transaction, first payment sent) as the real conversion and send it back to ad platforms where policy allows, so bidding optimizes for active users instead of empty accounts.
B2B fintech: committees, security and integration
B2B fintech sells to finance teams, and the buying group often includes the CFO, a controller or treasury lead, IT security and engineering. Search for category terms and comparisons, LinkedIn reach to finance roles, and content on integration, implementation and controls drive this journey. Security reviews are a standard step, and buyers commonly ask for documentation such as a SOC 2 report, so having a clear trust or security page shortens the cycle. Developer documentation is also marketing for API-led products, because engineers often decide whether an integration is realistic. For the general B2B playbook, see our B2B marketing page.
Fintech Advertising Rules, Disclosures and Tracking
Fintech marketing runs under financial regulation and stricter ad platform policies. These are well-documented points we plan around. Your compliance team and counsel make the final call on anything regulated.
Google Ads financial services policies
Google Ads has a financial services policy that requires certain disclosures for financial products, and in a growing list of countries advertisers must complete Google's financial services verification before they can promote them. In the US, Google does not allow ads for personal loans with an APR of 36% or higher, and it does not allow ads for personal loans that require repayment in full within 60 days. Crypto exchanges and wallets need Google's cryptocurrency certification for the countries they target. We check eligibility and verification before building campaigns, because a disapproved account wastes the launch window.
Meta Special Ad Categories
Meta requires ads for credit and certain other financial products and services to run under a Special Ad Category. That removes targeting by age, gender and ZIP code and limits detailed targeting options, so audience building relies more on creative, placements and first-party data that the policy allows.
Regulators and disclosures
The rules depend on what you offer. Registered investment advisers follow the SEC Marketing Rule on testimonials, endorsements and performance advertising, and broker-dealers follow FINRA Rule 2210 on communications with the public. Credit ads that use certain trigger terms need additional disclosures under Regulation Z (Truth in Lending), and deposit ads that quote a rate fall under Regulation DD (Truth in Savings), which requires the annual percentage yield. The CFPB enforces against unfair, deceptive or abusive practices, and a fintech that is not a bank must not imply that it is one or overstate deposit insurance coverage. In the UK, financial promotions must be issued or approved by an FCA-authorized firm, and cryptoasset promotions have been within that regime since October 2023. We are not lawyers: confirm every regulatory question with your own counsel or compliance team.
Privacy-safe tracking
Financial institutions handle nonpublic personal information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, so standard pixels on application and logged-in pages need careful review. We keep account and application details out of URLs and event parameters, use server-side tagging to control what each platform receives, and send only the conversion signals your compliance team approves. For EEA traffic, Google has required Consent Mode v2 since March 2024. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency means many users opt out of cross-app tracking, so app campaigns rely on aggregated measurement through SKAdNetwork and modeled conversions.
How We Run Fintech Marketing in the First 90 Days
- Product, funnel and compliance intake (weeks 1 to 2). We learn your products, licenses or partner bank setup, target markets and the review process for marketing material: who approves, what they need to see and how long it takes. We also collect any existing approved claims, disclosures and rate language.
- Tracking and data review (weeks 2 to 4). We map funnel events from visit to application start, identity check passed, approval and first funding or transaction. We check what data each pixel receives, move sensitive steps to server-side tagging where needed and set up offline conversion imports for approved or funded accounts.
- Claims library and templates (weeks 3 to 5). Together with your compliance team we build a library of approved claims, required disclosures and banned phrases, plus ad and landing page templates. Later reviews then cover only what changed, which cuts approval time.
- Paid launch (weeks 4 to 8). Platform verification or certification is completed first. Search campaigns go live on high-intent terms, Meta runs under the correct Special Ad Category, and app campaigns optimize toward an in-app event rather than installs where volume allows.
- SEO and content build (weeks 5 to 12). Comparison pages, calculators, glossary entries and explainers ship in priority order, each with a named author, an expert reviewer where appropriate and a record of its compliance approval.
- Quarterly review (weeks 11 to 13). Cost per funded or activated account by channel, application completion rates, early cohort retention and SEO movement, with a plan for the next quarter.
Fintech Marketing KPIs That Reflect Real Customers
- Cost per funded or activated account: spend divided by accounts that deposit, transact or draw funds, not sign-ups.
- Application completion rate: the share of people who start an application and finish it, tracked step by step.
- Approval rate by source: some channels bring applicants who fail underwriting or identity checks, which makes them more expensive than they look.
- Activation and early retention: first transaction rate and how many accounts stay active after 30 and 90 days, by acquisition channel.
- Payback period: how long revenue per customer takes to repay what it cost to acquire them.
- Pipeline and security review pass-through: for B2B fintech, opportunities created and how many clear the security review stage.
- Compliance review cycle time: days from draft to approval. Faster reviews mean more tests per quarter.
We set your baseline in the first month and report against it. We do not quote fintech benchmarks, because rates, products and regulation vary too much between companies.
Fintech Marketing Pricing
Fintech marketing is priced per service. Search and content usually carry the long-term growth, so many fintech teams start with a monthly SEO retainer, which has a 3-month minimum term. Paid media management for Google, Meta, LinkedIn and app campaigns is a flat fee by ad spend band, and tracking or server-side setups are fixed-price projects. The main cost drivers are the number of products and markets, content volume, how many compliance review rounds each asset needs and the complexity of the funnel you need measured. Fintech Landing Pages That Convert Without Overclaiming
Financial landing pages convert on clarity, not hype. The pages that hold up in compliance review and with cautious visitors usually share the same pieces:
- A plain statement of what the product is and who provides it, including the partner bank or licensed entity where that applies, in wording your compliance team approves.
- Fees and rates shown where people expect them, with required disclosures next to the claim rather than hidden in a footer.
- Security and data handling explained in everyday language, with a link to the full policy.
- Real reviews or ratings with sources, and testimonials only where your regulatory regime allows them and with the disclosures it requires.
- A short first step, such as checking a rate or seeing eligibility, before the full application.
Avoid words like "guaranteed", "risk-free" or "free" unless they are literally true and approved. They create review delays and erode trust with the visitors you most want.
Common Fintech Marketing Mistakes
- Optimizing for installs or sign-ups. Cheap installs that never fund an account make channels look better than they are. Optimize toward funded or active accounts.
- Launching ads before verification. Running financial ads without completing platform verification or choosing the right Special Ad Category leads to disapprovals or account restrictions.
- Pixels on application pages. Default pixel setups can pass URLs and form data to ad platforms. Review what each tag sends before launch.
- Reviewing every asset from scratch. Without an approved claims library, each ad takes days. With one, most reviews are quick.
- Thin content on money topics. Financial pages without named authors, expert review or sources struggle to earn trust from readers and search engines alike.
How to Select a Fintech Marketing Agency
Select a fintech marketing agency that understands ad platform rules for financial products, measures funded or active accounts instead of sign-ups, and works inside your compliance process rather than around it. When you compare options, including lists of the best fintech marketing agency candidates, ask each one:
- How will you handle Google financial services verification and Meta Special Ad Categories for our products?
- What events will you optimize toward, and how will you keep sensitive data out of ad platforms?
- How do you work with compliance reviewers, and what do you do to shorten review cycles?
- Who writes and reviews money content, and how are experts credited?
- Who owns the ad accounts, tracking and content?
We are open about our position. Our in-house industry experience is in ecommerce, fashion and SaaS, not banking or lending. We bring the channel, tracking, web and process work on this page, and we rely on your compliance and product teams for regulatory and product depth. A fintech startup marketing agency engagement with us usually starts narrow (one product, one market, two channels) and widens once measurement is trusted.
When to Hire a Fintech Marketing Agency
Hire a fintech marketing agency once you have a live product, regulatory status or a partner bank arrangement that allows marketing, a compliance reviewer who can approve material, and budget to test for at least a quarter. Before that point, an agency mostly produces material that cannot run. Many teams keep a head of marketing or growth in-house who owns positioning, partnerships and compliance relationships, and use an agency for paid media, SEO, content production and tracking. That split also suits a B2B fintech marketing agency engagement, where your team owns sales alignment and we run demand capture.
Who Our Fintech Marketing Services Fit
A good fit
- Fintech companies with a live product and a clear compliance review process
- Consumer apps that want to grow funded and active accounts, not only downloads
