A B2B marketing agency has one job that matters: put qualified opportunities in front of your sales team and prove which marketing created them. At 95 Solutions we plan and run search, LinkedIn, content, email and website work for companies that sell to other businesses, and we connect every channel to your CRM so reporting stops at pipeline and closed revenue, not at form fills. If a campaign produces leads that sales never accepts, we treat it as a failed campaign, however cheap the leads were.
B2B buying is slower and more crowded than consumer buying. Several people weigh in, the deal can take months, and most of the research happens before anyone fills in a form. That changes what good marketing looks like: a sharper definition of who you sell to, content that answers the questions a buying committee asks, paid media aimed at the right job titles, and tracking that survives a long gap between first click and signed contract. Strategy on every account is led by Mustafa, who has 11+ years in digital marketing, and you keep ownership of every ad account, analytics property and CRM integration we touch.

How B2B Buyers Move From Problem to Purchase
Most B2B purchases follow the same arc, even when the labels change from one company to the next. Each stage needs a different channel and a different measure of success, and many B2B marketing agencies run every stage with the same lead form.
Problem awareness
Someone in the business notices a cost, a risk or a missed target. They are not looking for vendors yet. They search for explanations, read posts from people they trust and ask peers. Educational content, LinkedIn posts from your founders and experts, and guest appearances on podcasts and webinars work here. We judge this stage on reach and engagement inside the companies you want to sell to, not on leads.
Solution research
The problem now has an owner and maybe a budget line. Buyers search category terms, read comparison pages and ask for recommendations. This is where non-brand Google Ads, category pages and alternatives content earn their place, because the searcher is deciding who makes the shortlist.
Shortlist and evaluation
Several stakeholders look at a few vendors side by side. They want pricing signals, proof, integration details, security answers and implementation timelines. Retargeting on LinkedIn and Google, proof content and a website with a clear answer to each objection carry this stage. Engagement across an account (how many people from one company are visiting) tells you more than any single lead.
Decision and procurement
Sales leads now, but marketing still supplies the material: business cases, security documentation, implementation plans and references. Our job is enablement, plus making sure the CRM records which campaigns touched the deal.
Expansion and renewal
Existing customers are usually the cheapest pipeline you have. Customer email programs, product education and expansion campaigns aimed at current accounts keep that revenue moving. Agencies paid only on new leads tend to ignore this stage, so we put it in the plan from the start.
B2B Tracking, Email Rules and Platform Specifics
B2B marketing usually breaks in the gap between the ad platform and the CRM. A lead source field that says "Website" for half your deals tells you nothing. These are the technical and compliance details we set up first.
Connecting ad platforms to the CRM
Google Ads can import offline conversions, so a lead that becomes a sales qualified lead or a closed deal in your CRM is reported back against the click that started it. Google Ads has native connections for Salesforce and HubSpot, and Enhanced Conversions for Leads uses hashed form data to match leads when a click ID is missing. LinkedIn offers a Conversions API alongside its Insight Tag, which lets you send CRM stages back to Campaign Manager. Once those signals flow, automated bidding can optimize toward qualified pipeline instead of raw form fills.
Hidden fields and lead source hygiene
Every form should pass UTM parameters, click IDs and the landing page into hidden fields, and the CRM should store original source separately from latest source. We also agree definitions in writing: what counts as a marketing qualified lead, a sales accepted lead and a sales qualified lead. Without shared definitions, marketing and sales argue about numbers instead of fixing the funnel.
Email rules for business contacts
In the US, CAN-SPAM applies to commercial email whether it goes to a consumer or to a business address. Messages need accurate sender information, a subject line that is not deceptive, a valid physical postal address and a working opt-out that is honored within 10 business days. Canada's CASL requires express or implied consent before you send commercial electronic messages, including to business addresses. In the UK, PECR treats email to corporate subscribers differently from email to individuals, but UK GDPR still applies to a named contact's personal data. We build lists and sequences around these rules. We are not lawyers, so confirm cold outreach and data protection questions with your own counsel.
Consent and tag sprawl
If you market to the EEA, Google has required Consent Mode v2 for EEA traffic since March 2024. B2B sites often run LinkedIn, Google, a chat tool, a visitor identification tool and a marketing automation tracker at the same time, so we audit which tags fire before consent, remove duplicates and manage everything through Google Tag Manager.
How We Run B2B Marketing: the First 90 Days
- Revenue and funnel audit (weeks 1 to 2). We review your CRM, the closed-won deals from the last year, average deal size, sales cycle length and win rates by source. We interview sales about the deals they wish they had more of. The output is an ideal customer profile written in terms we can target: industries, company sizes, job titles and the events that trigger a purchase.
- Tracking and CRM connection (weeks 2 to 4). Hidden fields, UTM rules, GA4 events for key actions (demo request, pricing page view, content download), offline conversion import for Google Ads and the LinkedIn Conversions API or Insight Tag. Lifecycle stage definitions are agreed with sales and written into the CRM.
- Channel and content plan (weeks 3 to 5). A written plan covering which channels get budget first and why, a target account list if account-based work fits, a keyword map for category and comparison terms, and a content calendar built from the questions sales hears every week. You approve budgets before anything launches.
- Launch (weeks 4 to 8). Non-brand search and LinkedIn campaigns go live with tight audiences, the first SEO pages and comparison content ship, and a nurture sequence starts for leads who are not ready for a sales call. Fixes to demo and contact paths on the website go out in the same window.
- Lead quality review (weeks 6 to 10). We review every batch of leads with sales: accepted, rejected and why. Audiences, keywords and offers are cut or expanded on that feedback, not on cost per lead alone.
- First quarterly review (weeks 11 to 13). Pipeline sourced and influenced by channel, cost per sales qualified lead, early SEO movement and a plan for the next quarter. Because B2B cycles are long, this review leans on leading indicators and pipeline created, with closed revenue reported as deals mature.
B2B Marketing KPIs Worth Reporting to Your Board
- Pipeline sourced and influenced: the value of opportunities where marketing was the first touch, and where it touched the deal at any point before close.
- Cost per sales qualified lead: spend divided by leads sales has accepted and qualified. Cost per lead on its own rewards cheap form fills that never turn into deals.
- Lead to opportunity rate by source: shows which channels bring people who become real opportunities.
- Sales cycle length and win rate by source: some channels bring fewer leads that close faster and at higher values.
- Customer acquisition cost and payback period: total sales and marketing cost to win a customer, against the gross margin that customer brings each month.
- Target account engagement: for account-based programs, how many target accounts show several engaged visitors.
We report against your own baseline from the audit. We do not quote industry averages, because cycle length and deal size vary too much between B2B sectors for averages to guide decisions.
B2B Marketing Pricing
B2B marketing is priced per service, so you only pay for the channels in your plan. Paid media management, including LinkedIn and Google Ads, is a flat monthly fee by ad spend band, with a percentage of spend above the top band. SEO and content are monthly retainers, and tracking or CRM connection work is a fixed-price project. The main cost drivers are the number of channels, monthly ad spend, how many segments or regions you target, content volume and how much CRM work is needed. Retainers have a 3-month minimum term. The paid media plans are below.

Account-Based Marketing Without Enterprise Software
Account-based marketing means choosing a defined list of companies and aiming marketing at the people inside them. It suits businesses with high deal values and a market small enough to name. You do not need an enterprise ABM platform to start. LinkedIn matched audiences accept company lists and contact lists, Google Customer Match accepts contact lists from advertisers who meet its eligibility requirements, and your CRM can flag target accounts so reporting shows engagement by account.
We usually start with tiers: a small first tier that gets personalized content and coordinated sales outreach, a second tier with industry-level campaigns, and everyone else on standard programs. Engagement by account goes to sales every week, so outreach happens while interest is real rather than a month later.
Common B2B Marketing Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
- Optimizing for cost per lead. Gated e-books and broad audiences bring cheap names that sales ignores. A higher cost per lead is fine when more of those leads become opportunities.
- LinkedIn audiences that are too broad. Targeting a whole industry at manager level across every function spends most of the budget on people who will never buy. Start with the functions and titles that appear in your closed deals, then widen on data.
- No offline conversion data. If Google Ads only sees form fills, its bidding chases form fills, including spam, students and job seekers. Importing qualified stages fixes what the algorithm learns from.
- Content written for search volume, not buying committees. Generic definition articles bring traffic that never buys. Comparison, pricing explanation, integration and implementation pages bring fewer visitors who are much closer to a decision.
- Marketing and sales on different definitions. When nobody agrees what a qualified lead is, every report becomes an argument. Write the definitions down and put them in the CRM.
- Gating everything. Gating every resource hides your best arguments from the people researching you quietly. We gate only assets worth a sales conversation and leave the rest open.
How to Vet a B2B Marketing Agency Before You Sign
To vet a B2B marketing agency, ask how it will measure success in your CRM, who will actually run the work, and how it will handle the months between first touch and closed deal. The answers separate a real agency for B2B marketing from a consumer shop that has added a B2B page.
- Ask what they report. If the sample report stops at leads and cost per lead, they are not managing to pipeline.
- Ask about CRM access. A serious B2B internet marketing agency asks for read access to your CRM in the first week.
- Ask who does the work. Find out whether the senior person in the pitch runs your account or hands it to a junior team.
- Ask how they learn your product. Technical products need interviews with sales, product and customers, not just a brief and a keyword tool.
- Ask about ownership. Ad accounts, tag manager containers and automation workflows should live in your name.
- Ask what they would not do. A good agency will tell you which channels are wrong for your deal size and market.
We are open about our own position. Our in-house industry experience is in ecommerce, fashion and SaaS. For other B2B sectors we bring the channel, tracking and process work described on this page, and we rely on your team for product and market depth in the first weeks.
B2B Growth Marketing Agency, Inbound Agency or In-House Team?
| Option | Works well when | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| In-house marketing team | You have steady budget, a clear ideal customer profile and a senior person to manage specialists | Hiring separately for LinkedIn, SEO, content, automation and analytics is slow, and one generalist rarely covers them all well |
| B2B inbound marketing agency | Your buyers research heavily online and you can wait for content and SEO to compound | Inbound alone is slow to produce pipeline in a new category, and many inbound programs stop measuring at the form fill |
| B2B growth marketing agency | You need paid and organic channels tested together against a pipeline target | "Growth" can mean almost anything, so ask which channels and which measures the retainer covers |
| Agency plus an in-house lead | You have an internal owner for positioning, product marketing and sales alignment | Needs clear lanes so the agency is not waiting on approvals for every ad and page |
A setup that works for many companies is an in-house owner of positioning and sales alignment, with an agency running paid media, SEO, tracking and automation against shared pipeline targets. Whether a firm calls itself a B2B technology marketing agency or a full-service shop matters less than whether its team can connect channels to your CRM and explain your product accurately.
